About The Parker Family

The Parker Family--Jessica, Jeremy, JaMaya (age 10), JaLiyah (age 7), JaLaja (age 4), JaCionna (age 2) and Baby Girl Parker (due in April)--is Topeka Habitat for Humanity's 100th Partner Family! 

The Parker Family is a testament to the strength of Topeka Habitat for Humanity's partner families. Having endured years of substandard housing through a low-income rental assistance program, the Parkers currently reside in a 2-bedroom apartment that does not provide the space or the safety for their growing family of seven. Jessica, a self-employed massage therapist, works tirelessly for the family, while balancing caring for her four daughters, with the assistance of Jeremy, who is a full-time cook. 

The 100th Topeka Habitat Partner Family

While being selected as the 100th Habitat partner family, friends and acquaintances shared stories of their endurance as a couple through difficult times and noted time and time again that they "are not people who will accept their circumstances and always strive for better." Their new home, to be completed in early 2017, will provide them with not only expanded space with five bedrooms and two bathrooms, but will provide them with a safe and affordable home that they can call their very own.
